Rizoma 77/011 push bike

I came across this and thought it was really cool and an amazing piece of design. The bike scene at the moment is filled of fixed wheeled bikes with bright colours. this frame is unique as its missing the seat pillar in the frame, and due to that the frame has become more rounded to compensate for strength. Giving it this unique look. The frame is made from a blend of aluminium and carbon. This bike has some lovely design touches such as the handle bars that incorporates a wing mirror on one side. also the seat, chaining, crank arm and pedals. cant be seen much on the black bike but go on the link and the bike can be seen in more

Zaha Hadid - REGIUM WATERFRONT

I found this from Zaha Hadid, its for the Reigium waterfront in Italy, I love the smooth lines and the curves. Also the texture of the surface looks so smooth and clean. I love how it flows and looks like its moving from out of the ground. I also thought if you turned the picture on its side clockwise. The shape could roughly resemble a gear shifter. And all the recessed parts of the design could be small details on the gear shifter. I love architecture for inspiration.

Gear sticks sketches

Here are just some initial gear stick sketches, just trying to get some ideas down on paper, like I said in a previous post I've been looking into architecture to get inspiration for shapes and form that can be related and incorporated into a gear stick. And trying to put more detail into it, than just having a typical cylinder shape gear knob, but whilst trying to keep function and use. It's hard to incorporate both things, but I feel like it can be achieved easily enough.

Zaha Hadid

Zaha Hadid has to be probably my favourite architect. i get a lot of inspiration for design from architecture and products. These are prototype for a golf and spa resort which includes 400 villas and 2 hotel in Croatia looking onto the ocean. i have been trying to get inspiration for the gear stick we have to design, and to gain inspiration i looked a lot at architecture. i love this shape and the detail such as the small window holes in the top picture, and openings of the building and how they flow with the shape of the design.

VW up estate render

Here is my final VW up estate render. Happy with how it turned out. I like the new headlights with the sharper lines and how the grille and the internal lines of he headlights combine. The simple front bumper with the horizontal slats. Looks a lot more grown up and more aggressive, kind of golf like. I've incorporated the 3 door window shape into this design as well. Overall I'm really happy with it and think its very VW.

VW cross coupe concept

Here is the VW cross coupe concept, i have been looking into a lot of future and up coming VW's to see what features they have so i can see a trend through out the VW range and i can incorporate it into my facelift and estate up. A feature i see a lot of is how the grille and the headlights all flow together, and become a main feature of the front of the car. Which i really love and think look great and it really stand out on this car. I also like the horizontal lines of the front bumper and the use of the silver/aluminium look around the sill. I really hope they make this as i love the lines of it, the dynamic and sleek look it has, as many 4x4 have more of a boxy look to them.

VW UP lite

Since doing a project on VW UP and choosing the derivative of doing an estate, this is the VW UP lite is kind of an estate version of the UP. I really like this, still has some characteristics of the original up such as the smiling face on the front bumper, even though they have sharpened the lines. the rear window has a similar shape just sharpened it up again, they have really sharpened up the whole car. They are doing it across the whole range. It has given my inspiration for my estate i need to design.

VW up estate

Here is my favourite VW up estate idea so far. As I've been looking into incorporating the next generation of VW style. I think I have achieved that with the grille lines merging with the headlamps, and have lots of horizontal lines In the bumpers. And also they seem to have L shape forms in the lights. so I have done that so the front and rear so everything links together nicely. And things like the fake exhaust trims, seem to be a common feature on future VW which I've also incorporated.
